Gandhi's "truth force", satyagraha, depends upon the reliance upon decency of your "opponent", who, in fact, is not your enemy, but yet another misguided human being. To confront without violence, and the willingness to suffer blows, for both your opponent's and one's own best interest, is among the highest expressions of love for humanity. Though we shall not know the ultimate result of such an approach, one can have reason to hope that the middle-east will yet become a lesson to the world.
